The Effects Of Modernism On The Bible? By: Gary Colley

Modernism actually has no effect on the Bible. Modernism is the enemy of all men, because it leads men away from the revealed will of God. The Bible is inspired of God (II Timothy 3:16-17)! It has ever been protected by God (II Peter 1:20-21). It is promised that God's Word will stand forever (Matthew 24:35). Though men may refuse to accept the Bible in this lief, they do so to the destruction of their own soul (Matthew 16:26-27). God will have the last word, when He brings judgment on the ungodly and disobedient (John 12:48). Some of the points upheld by Modernism, but denied by the Scriptures are below.
1. The virgin birth of Christ (Matthew 1:18-25, Luke 1:26-38)
2. The miracles, wonders, and signs of Christ (John 20:30-31)
3. The death of Christ (Matthew 27:35-38, Mark 15:24-28, Luke 23:33-38,
John 19:18-24)
4. The resurrection and appearances for forty days after Christ arose (Matthew 28,
Mark 16, Luke 24, John 20-21)
To deny these facts is to reject the Bible. These teachings also deny and reject Christ as being who and what He claimed to be, the "Son of God." Modernism seeks to reduce Him to a mere man who was either deceived or dishonest, neither of which is true! The Bible gives an infallible record of the essentials necessary for man to please God (Romans 10:17, Hebrews 11:6). THE BIBLE IS NOT A BOOK THAT CAN BE PARTIALLY REJECTED WITHOUT DOING VIOLENCE TO ITS CLAIMS TO INSPIRATION. We must either accept or reject it as it is!True faith cannot be based on imagination or man's reasoning. True faith must depend on sufficient evidence. That sufficient evidence of the inspiration of the Bible is available to the good and honest heart (Luke 8:11-15). Also, when proper investigation is given, the evidence will force one of honest mind to conclude that the Bible is God's Word, and that it should be respected and obeyed! Eye had not seen, nor ear heard the things that God prepared for lost mankind, until it was revealed in the Bible (I Corinthians 2:9-11), but without your studying and accepting it, you will not be saved by the Bible (II Timothy 2:15).
