Bible Will I Find: "Left Behind" Books Are Scriptural? By: Gary Colley

The series of books published entitled "Left Behind " is a publishing phenomenon, with over 18,000,000 books already sold! Though the books are marketed correctly as "fiction," which they truly are, they are being used by dispensational premillennialist as a spring board to teach their false doctrines of Premillennialism. These false teachers advocate a division of the history of the world into seven different eras or dispensations, based they say on the seven days of creation. The seventh era is supposed to parallel the 1000 year reign of Christ on earth over a literal kingdom over in Jerusalem. The sick superstition of thousands of gullible people no doubt have caused the large amount of sales. It seems more will read human books than read the Bible where the Truth can be found (Jn.8:31-32). The Bible does not teach Premillennialism, "dispensational" or otherwise. It does not teach "the rapture," "the great tribulation, "the Antichrist " of this theory, "the battle of Armageddon, " etc. These are figments of men's imaginations, who will not correctly study the Bible (Il Tim.2:15). It does not teach that planes and cars will suddenly be without pilots and drivers; who have left behind "pacemakers, hearing aids, and even fillings out of their teeth!" It does teach that all shall be raised at the SECOND coming of Christ, but not the THIRD (Heb.9:27-28; Acts 1:11; Jn.5:28-29) The Bible does not teach a silent second coming of the Lord to "rapture His people," but a very very noisy one: (I Thess.4:13-18). How sad that people will take advantage of men's superstition and ignorance to publish and sell such a book as "Left Behind." Many of these books have been published in the past, such as Hal Lindsey's book, "'The Late Great Planet Earth." He made predictions as to the time of the Lord's return, but proved to be a false teacher and false prognosticator! No man knows the day and hour of the Lords second coming (Matt.24:36,42,44,50). But "every eye shall see him" (Rev.1:7). How foolish for men to guess about that which they cannot know! But, is it not worse for the poor folks that let these false teachers lead them into the destruction of Hell? Jesus warned of these deceivers (Matt.1S:13-14).--Gary Colley
